We received the English translation of Lydia's information yesterday. She was abandoned at the age of one month old and taken to the orphanage. The medical staff there examined her and estimated her birth date. She was found to be a healthy newborn.
The report describes her as "sensitive when she first arrived but now she has become a lovely baby with fiery eyes. She gets excited when she sees people she knows but cries in front of strangers." We know this little one is going to have quite an adjustment to make after we bring her home; new faces, different sounds, different food, different smells. So much for one little one to face!
It is so heartening to hear our children say each time one of them sees her picture, "she is so cute!" We wish we could bypass the rest of the paperwork but travel arrangements and visas must be arranged. One would think we would just breeze through the paper work and we would be experts by now!
